Danish Sisterhood Scholarship Fund

Danish Sisterhood scholarships and grant programs is currently accepting applications form eligible candidates. The scholarship program is exclusively for those who are members of the Danish Sisterhood and their children, age notwithstanding.

The scholarship program is proudly sponsored and funded through the  generous endowments and memorial funds and are being provided by donations from the individual members of the foundation, lodges, and districts of the National Sisterhood. None of these scholarships is funded with the membership dues. With this scholarship program a lot of talented, academic good and well-deserving students have been able to attend college the case would have been otherwise.

At the time of the establishment of this scholarship program, the people that funds the program made stipulations regarding the criteria that the applicant must meet before he/she is considered for the program. The scholarship program is divided into four different sections-each with different requirements and amount of award. One of the four scholarship programs offers six award every year; however, applicants are allowed to apply to a maximum of one out of the four scholarships provided by Danish Sisterhood Scholarship Fund.

Note the following:

Awardees are expected to provide matriculation verification by October 31 (first semester) and December 15 (second semester).

Candidates who are applying for the first time have greater edge over those who have been awarded the scholarship before

What are the lists of the available scholarship programs?

As you read earlier, the Danish Sisterhood Scholarship Fund have only four available programs. These are:

PAST NATIONAL OFFICERS’ SCHOLARSHIP:

Number of slots available: The number of slots available for this is one.

Amount involved: The awardee will be given a whooping sum of $500 for the year.

How do I know if I am eligible for the PAST NATIONAL OFFICERS’ SCHOLARSHIP?

To be eligible, you meet the following criteria:

Be selected as a concurrent Betty Hansen National Scholarship winner.

Be a good and respected member of Danish Sisterhood for a minimum of one year before the PAST NATIONAL OFFICERS’ SCHOLARSHIP scholarship deadline.

You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.

BETTY HANSEN NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP:

Number of slots available : Six

Amount of award: $2500

Eligibility:

Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Applicant must be a full time student who is enrolled in or entering an accredited four-year college or university as a graduate or undergraduate student.

MILDRED SORENSEN NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP:

Number of slots: one

Amount per award: $1000

Criteria for Eligibility:

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

As an applicant, you must be a high school graduate undertaking an technical(vocational)educational program which will lead to an associate or higher degree.

OLGA CHRISTENSEN NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP:

Number of slots: One

Amount per award: $1000

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria and that of Sorensen National scholarship is the same.

ELIZABETH GARDE NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP:

What is the number of available slots?

The number of available slots is One.

If one gets this scholarship how much will he be paid?

If one gets the scholarship, he will be paid $850 for the year

What are the eligibility Criteria?

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Be a high graduate seeking admission to study nursing or medicine.

Note that: One can only receive the award once.

Yes, there is deadline for the application and you are advised to apply before then to avoid losing this great opportunity.
